The Max vineyards are named after the estate's founder, Don Maximiano Errazuriz, who made his first plantings in Aconcagua in 1870. This wine comes grapes grown mainly in the Max 2 and Max 5 plots, and is aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. A bright ruby red wine, with a sweetly expressive nose of red fruit, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Fine and plentiful tannins and juicy black fruit add up to a friendly and enjoyable palate. Partners equally well with a rare steak as it does with pasta in a primavera sauce.
